At Primary Schooling, training is centered around new beginnings.
Whether that be a young horse ready to be started under saddle, an off-the-track thoroughbred preparing for a new career, or a more experienced horse with holes in their training that need addressed, Primary Schooling provides these horses with the proper environment needed to thrive.
Patient, consistent training creates a confident horse that will perform their job willingly to the best of their abilities.
All training has to begin with a solid foundation of ground work. At Primary Schooling this includes rope halter work, desensitizing, and long lining. Only after these steps are completed does a horse begin their under-saddle work.
All horses in training begin their education with dressage work. Dressage is a French
term for training. The fundamental purpose of dressage is to develop a horse's natural athletic ability and willingness to perform.
With this solid foundation of training, a horse can successfully move forward into a variety of disciplines.
Our 60' round pen with quality footing provides an ideal space for training. Our riding ring has premium rubber footing.
